TM44 Inspections

Air conditioning energy assessments are now a legal requirement under The Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) (England and Wales) Regulations 2007 SI 2007/991 amended by SI 2007/1669, SI 2007/3302 and SI 2008/647.

 

As your Air Conditioning Service provider we would like to make you aware of current Legislation which is relevant to your site.

TM44 inspection, or survey, is an assessment of a buildings air conditioning systems. Their primary purpose is to help businesses improve the efficiency of their buildings. More specifically, reducing energy consumption, carbon emissions and operating costs. All typical issues associated with air conditioning.

They are required for all buildings where the air conditioning systems combined output is equal to 12kW or more.

A TM44 survey  must be completed by an independent, accredited assessor.  It involves a site survey, A Report is provided after the survey with Key recommendations which is lodged on the Government Landmark , a Certificate is issued which is valid for 5 years.  A copy of the certificate and report must be kept on site.

Compliance with the regulation is enforced by local trading standards authorities. Failure to produce a valid certificate upon request is an offence that could result in monetary fines. These are repeatable until an inspection has taken place and a valid certificate is issued.
